These high-visibility ‘Marking Flags’ are indispensible for everyone who has land or a farm. We use hundreds of these every year to color-code the locations of our many Potato seed lots, to mark the start line on the edge of a field and to warn machinery away from buried equipment-busting-rocks. For any planned structure under contemplation, we’ll use these colorful Flags to rough out the potential perimeter so that we are able to mull over the spot as we set about doing our day-to-day work. Unlike the short and weak-kneed imported flags with plastic stems available from the competition, our Flags are the rare real-deal, extra-tall workhorses with 36” stiff wire to which are securely attached the bright and beautiful 4” x 5” PVC Flags. These Flags tower above even big plants like Potatoes and Squash and are visible from 200 yards. Our Wood Prairie Paint Pens compliment perfectly for writing permanent codes onto our Flags. Most customers ask us to ship orders at the Best Time for Spring Potato Planting based on our 50-State Chart.

However, we do ship our Seed Potatoes 52 Weeks/Year, whenever you want them. We harvest our crop of Organic Maine Certified Seed Potatoes in September. We begin shipping this New Crop by November 1 (sometimes earlier) and continue shipping from our on-farm underground Potato Storage, every week through the Winter & Spring & Summer until October 31.

All new potato tubers grown anywhere must go through a Dormancy Period after harvest before tubers will sprout and grow. This dormancy lasts 4-8 weeks. For planting after December 1, the dormancy concern becomes a non-issue because our Seed Potatoes will have completed their rest period and will sprout and grow when warmed up to room temperature.

Note: Orders which include 45 pound carton(s) of Certified Seed Potatoes and shipped after mid-November and prior to the week of March 24 or between July 1 and September 30 customarily require a $16.00 insulated box fee.
