Shipping information

Most customers ask us to ship orders at theΒ Best Time for Spring Potato PlantingΒ based onΒ our 50-State Chart.

However, we do ship our Seed Potatoes 52 Weeks/Year, whenever you want them.Β Β We harvest our crop of Organic Maine Certified Seed Potatoes in September. We begin shipping this New Crop by November 1 (sometimes earlier) and continue shipping from our on-farm underground Potato Storage, every week through the Winter & Spring & Summer until October 31.

All new potato tubers grown anywhereΒ mustΒ go through aΒ Dormancy PeriodΒ after harvest before tubers will sprout and grow. This dormancyΒ lasts 4-8 weeks.Β For planting after December 1, the dormancy concern becomes a non-issue because our Seed Potatoes will have completed their rest period and will sprout and grow when warmed up to room temperature.

Note:Β Orders which include 45 pound carton(s) of Certified Seed Potatoes and shipped after mid-November and prior to the week of March 24 or between July 1 and September 30 customarily require a $16.00 insulated box fee. If insulated packaging should not be necessary, you will receive a shipping refund automatically. Feel free to callΒ (207) 429-9765Β (M-F 8:00-5:00pm ET) for a Rate Quote.
