Shipping information

Most customers ask us to ship orders at the Best Time for Spring Potato Planting based on our 50-State Chart.

However, we do ship our Seed Potatoes 52 Weeks/Year, whenever you want them.  We harvest our crop of Organic Maine Certified Seed Potatoes in September. We begin shipping this New Crop by November 1 (sometimes earlier) and continue shipping from our on-farm underground Potato Storage, every week through the Winter & Spring & Summer until October 31.

All new potato tubers grown anywhere must go through a Dormancy Period after harvest before tubers will sprout and grow. This dormancy lasts 4-8 weeks. For planting after December 1, the dormancy concern becomes a non-issue because our Seed Potatoes will have completed their rest period and will sprout and grow when warmed up to room temperature.

Note: Orders which include 45 pound carton(s) of Certified Seed Potatoes and shipped after mid-November and prior to the week of March 24 or between July 1 and September 30 customarily require a $16.00 insulated box fee. If insulated packaging should not be necessary, you will receive a shipping refund automatically. Feel free to call (207) 429-9765 (M-F 8:00-5:00pm ET) for a Rate Quote.

NEW! Organic White Alyssum. 60 days. Annual. (Lobularia maritime).  Diminutive low-growing ground-cover plant offers abundant nectar, famously drawing pollinators and beneficial insects. Our Open-Pollinated selection begins flowering very early and often will re-seed itself. Grows well in containers outside, but tends to struggle inside in window boxes because of strong sunlight requirements.  Tiny white flowers, produced in clusters, fairly showy and gifted with a powerful and delightful honey-like fragrance.  66,400 seeds/oz. Pkt (~ 500 seeds) plants 75.'
