Description
New! (Monarda fistulosa) Perennial member of our native Monarda tribe of the Mint Family. Pale lavender-pink flowers are borne in whorls atop open, wiry 2-4 foot stalks. Pollinators will mob the blooming plants! Makes a wonderful addition to wild gardens, or toward the rear of the herb garden. Aromatic leaves are often used in a range of traditional medicinal applications and even find utility in the kitchen where they are occasionally used in teas, potpourri and savory dishes. Clump-forming perennial prefers dryish, rather poor soil. ~2000 seeds/gm Pkt (~200 seeds, plants 10′)
