Coming Up With a Plan That Includes Videos.
Photos are one thing and videos are another. Beginning two years ago we made the decision to put new life back into our Wood Prairie YouTube channel. The younger crowd nowadays has a voracious appetite for videos. So, when you make your living marketing-direct to the public - in our case growing and selling Organic Maine Certified Seed Potatoes and Organic Garden Seed - it's a good idea to change with the times cultivating a new generation of customers.
In this photo, in the background you can see our small herd of Organic Lowline Angus (aka 'Aberdeen Angus') herd of cows grazing on a rotated Organic Potato field, now in soil-builiding sod. We manage a potential waste problem by having our cows eat our cull Organic Potatoes. With a cattle diet supplemented with Organic grass pasture and Organic hay in the Winter, we gain in return a supply of inexpensive and delicious Organic Angus beef.
In the foreground, Justin (l) and Caleb (r) discuss next steps after having mounted onto a tractor for the first time our new (used) Italian 'Maschio' Flail Mower. We actually made a recent Video about using the Maschio on fields which next year will be used to grow our Organic Maine Certified Seed Potatoes. You can find that video on our YT channel.
Caleb is the one in charge of our Wood Prairie video efforts. He has another one ready and set to post later this morning around dinner time (11am ET). This new video is a good one and has to do with some of the contortions Mainers must go through in coaxing reluctant equipment to get going during our half-year of cold weather.
