BREAKING GOOD GOOD NEWS! ‘ORGANIC VALLEY’ COOPERATIVE THROWS LIFE PRESERVER TO 80 SMALL ORGANIC FAMILY DAIRY FARMS IN THE NORTHEAST. ‘Organic Valley’ (OV) – the largest farmer-owned organic cooperative in the USA – has offered Organic Milk contracts to 80 of the 130 organic dairy farms in the Northeast who were told last year by Horizon & Maple Hill Creamery that their contracts would be terminated this year.
This is FANTASTIC news for the 80 farms which would otherwise have faced immanent financial ruin because of the lost market.
Here in Maine, 11 of the 14 organic dairy farms slated to be dropped by Horizon in August 2022 have been offered Organic Milk contracts by OV.
You can let OV (https://www.facebook.com/OrganicValley) know that they are doing the right thing by leaving a comment on their FB wall and searching out OV products in grocery stores. Caleb, Megan & Jim

“‘My family began farming this land over 65 years ago. I’m glad to partner with Organic Valley to continue our family farm,’ said George Osgood of Corinth, Vermont. ‘A cooperative owned by small family farms is the perfect fit for us. It gives us the chance to keep doing what we love.'”
