Excellent disease and pest resistance
The Rose Finn ranked #1 and #2 for disease/pest resistance and germination rate out of the 15 Wood Prairie Farm varieties I planted this year. The Colorado Potato Beetle did not like this variety at all; we did not find a single CPB on any of the 35 hills we planted and only 1 hill failed to germinate. I am only giving this variety a 4 rating because the yields (pound per plant) were the lowest of the 3 fingerling varieties we planted. I believe this variety is very susceptible to the heat in Virginia. I will grow this variety again next season to confirm if it doesn't do well in the heat or if I can improve the yields with more composted manure and straw mulch to protect the plant from the heat.
