We've faced 2 of the toughest growing years I can remember and King Harry has come through both years. In 2016 we had a drought that pretty much lasted the entire growing season (unheard of in Alabama!) and all of my crops were under extreme pressure from insect problems as well as the moisture issue. Fire ants are a big problem in the south and our potato crop was under attack because the ants were seeking the moisture in the spuds. Out of 6 varieties growing King Harry was about all that survived. I won't say he thrived but survived! This year was the exact opposite. Our crops stood in water most of the spring and early summer! I lost entire crops of tomatoes, squash, zucchini, but my potatoes hung in there. I actually dug them a little early out of fear of them rotting in the ground. Out of 6 varieties again, King Harry outperformed them all in yield, average size and pest resistance. Preparing my order now for 2018, hope we are blessed with a more "normal" season. Thanks for all you do Wood Prairie!
An interesting potato to grow

I am giving this variety a 4 because compared to the 14 other Wood Prairie Farm varieties we grew this year, this ranked low in expected size and yield than we expected and the potatoes were undersized, rooty unlike the photos on the website. On a positive note, we only had 1 out of 33 planted not come up and this variety had moderate resistance to the Colorado Potato Beetle with only 15 % of the hills found with the CPB during the growing season. I am hesitant to try this variety again but only because I think the Virginia heat has a negative impact on this particular variety. This particular variety is probably best suited for cooler growing areas.

My growing partner and I ordered your seed potatoes for the first time last season. We were so excited to try some different varieties and decided to order six different kinds. We sold at our local farmers market for the first time this season, and we entered 3 of our potatoes in the Virginia State Fair. Our Carola's and Red Cloud won 1st place Blue Ribbons, and our All Blue won a 2nd place(only because they were in the same class as the Carolas). Our Russian Banana Fingerlings sold out at our first market in July. Thanks so much for providing us with excellent seed stock, because without that, we could not produce these beautiful, delicious potatoes. Looking forward to trying some other varieties next year!

Received my seed potatoes yesterday in PERFECT condition. I opened and inspected them and they are about the BEST seed potatoes I have ever seen! I can't wait to plant them. They were also packaged very nicely!

Your Russian Banana were great last year! Lots of fun for Dad, (me) and our 2 kids. Our daughter loved the taste, far better than the store.
