The whole oat, freshly rolled, sweet and delicious. Great in granola, or apple crisp, or added to baked goods. Clean, sweet flavor. Oats thrive in Maine's cool climate and are a traditional rotation crop for Aroostook County potatoes. Oats were cultivated by the prehistoric inhabitants of Central Europe. In some of the cool, moist northern climates oats were the most important cereal.
